Oahu is the most visited island of Hawaii and is where many of the best Hawaii vacation package deals are going to be found. While it is difficult to get vacation packages to Lanai, the opposite is true of Oahu. Here you have so many different choices that it is hard to make a choice. In fact, there are so many choices between the various Oahu vacation packages you will be sure to find just the vacation getaway you need.
I started my search for packages online and almost immediately I was able to find a good deal on a package. This was a 7-night stay at the Hawaiian Monarch Hotel and, with my flight, the total was $899. The hotel has a 2.5 star rating, which means this hotel is average. I think I want a luxury hotel but it is nice to know that there is a good deal out there.
The next package I found was for $1,892 with United handling the flight and a stay at the Outrigger Reef on the beach. I stayed at this hotel 15 years ago and I would like to go back. This hotel comes with a 4 star rating and is over twice as much as the Monarch Hotel, but I suppose that is to be expected when you are right on the beach. While I might have gotten a car rental with my package, it seemed to be an unnecessary expense because everything is within walking distance.
These two examples of Oahu vacation packages give you an idea of the difference in prices depending on whether or not you feel you need to stay on the beach itself. Regardless if you book online or go through a travel agent, be sure to check about the various options that go with the different Oahu vacation packages. Options can include such things as car rental, tours, activities, dinner specials, luaus, shows, being greeted at the airport with a flower lei and so on.
Also be sure to check off-season discounts for Oahu vacations. Usually you will find the best vacation deals during the slower visitor months (September to about mid-December). As a rule, the earlier you make your reservations the better your chances of finding a cheap Oahu vacation package. It is well worth the time to do a little research, both online and with a travel agent, to compare rates to Oahu vacations and what you will get with each package.
